Dear Santa

Dear Santa

Some people have asked, “so what’s the next big plan after this race?” In all honesty, I don’t plan for anything huge. It’s not like there’s some factory in my head charged with churning out “The Next Big Plan in Life”.

It will actually be nice to just lead the life of a normal, non-mileage crunching person for a change. I’ll hang out in book stores a lot more often, catch up with friends over good music and a cup of tea, etc. Y’know, just stuff that require your butt to be attached to a stationary object (ie. chair).

So, just for fun, here’s a wish list of things (in no particular order) that I’d like to do at some point after the race:

1. Watch lots of heist films
2. Learn how to roller blade
3. Pick up Japanese/French again (wouldn’t it be nice to be able to read Haruki Murakami in original prose one day?)
4. Visit Hort Park
5. Get a scuba diving license and go hang out with the fishies
6. Take the Canon 50D for nice long walks and have “photography shoots” with friends as promised.
7. Catch a concert, preferably one with an oboe concerto. It’s been waaay too long since I’ve heard an oboe live. :(

These give me something to look forward to while looking up at the next impossibly big sand dune and feeling the very concept of civilisation deserting me.

In other news, I have gone from 24% body fat (post-84km ultra marathon) to this:

sahara race 250km 5613.3%? On a female? Is this healthy??
